Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Partner at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) based at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) in the UK.
Graduated from the University of York with a Bachelors in Sociology, and Goldsmiths University with a Masters in Gender, Media and Culture Studies.
Working as part of the EDI Office within EMBL’s HR department Alice supports the organisation by designing and implementing EDI strategy, creating and delivering trainings and workshops across the organisation, advising on policy with an EDI lens, and supporting EDI aspects of grant funding requirements. Alice is also part of the team that ran the Leadership and Excellence for Aspiring Postdocs (LEAP) programme at EMBL which supports female postdocs in aspiring for positions in leadership with resources to become change managers with regards to EDI.
Prior to joining EMBL Alice supported University College London (UCL) with EDI data analysis and data-driven recommendations for their applications to the Advance Higher Education charters for EDI: Athena Swan (institutional and departmental applications), and the institutional Race Equality Charter (REC). She also provided a report including recommendations to the Linnean Society on their membership and engagement.
